Get on Board

As Jordan shares on page 29, its important for you to have the support of your friends and family as you start to make changes to your lifestyle. Its especially encouraging if you can share this change with a best friend or start as a couple or family. My husband Steven has always been my #1 supporter!! He trusted me to take the reins when it came to purchasing and trying new things. We have been eating a healthful diet now for almost 15 years. Only from early childhood home videos do my children remember eating any other way. One misconception I hope to dispel is the thought that eating healthful food doesn't taste good. Eating healthy food tastes amazing. When my boys went to high school, after homeschooling, they couldn't wait to eat in the school cafeteria. They of course as any kid wanted to experience it. Of course, I let them, cause I knew it wouldn't take long until they realized that the processed food didn't compare to the delicious whole food they were use to. Sure enough, it was a couple of weeks and the youngest came and said,"I feel different, I don't like the food in the cafeteria."

So, Get on Board!! Here are three guidelines:

1. Maximize food; minimize non-food!!!

Losing weight is not necessarily eating less; it's about eating more intelligently - more of the "right" foods.

2. Maximize life; minimize life-drainer

Attaining and maintaining your perfect weight is individualized, even though it is important to include accountability and collaboration during this endeavor. You can't discuss weight issues without exploring the reasons why your individualized brain, hormones, and emotions may drive you to overeat. Take responsibility for your body - love it and then lose the weight - by yourself or with the help of others.

3. Maximize care; minimize carelessness

Understand how and why the body naturally stores fat - to protect itself in times when it needs to provide energy in the absence of food. The balance of nutrition and eating times and intervals, as well as types of foods, all figure into successful and sustained weight management!!

Read the full description of the three guidelines on page 29 and 30.

I am your #1 supporter!! If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to comment!!!
Love and blessings, Michele

Get Ready Get Set!!!

I have been waiting for people to comment before I start guiding through the Perfect Weight America book. But I guess I should just start. I will also be commented on Dr. Ruben's The Makers Diet. I actually like that book better but the PWA book as some cool things as well that I didn't want you to miss. For instance, before we get started I want you to take the test on page 24. Its a wrist measurement that help you determine your skeletal frame. By knowing your frame and height you can look at the chart for an estimated weight. Remember thought that the goal on this journey is to feel good and not get caught up with how much you should weight. This is a guide!!! Plus you will know when you are there what will be your perfect weight when you can maintain it and feel good!!!

More to come. Love you all. Michele

My New Favorite Breakfast

The last couple of days I have been out of my goat milk kefir, so I made myself 2 farm fresh eggs over easy, with fresh avocado!!! Yummy. Put a little butter in a fry pan, crack your eggs in the pan (make sure you don't break the yokes:), lightly salt with Redmonds Real Salt, cook for a minute or two, flip and cook for only a couple minutes and "wa la" eggs over easy. Put on plate with sliced avocado. (about 1/4 of a large avocado) The runny yokes are amazing with the avocado.

Yummy!!!

LIFESTYLE DIET

Many of my patients need additional help in changing their diet, loosing weight and maintaining what they've lost. This is the problem with most diets and dieters!!! You loose weight while you are on the diet, usually fast but as soon as you stop eating their food, or following a very restricted diet, you gain the weight back and then some. I want to help you loose weight with a very healthy plan that transitions right into a pure whole foods diet to help you maintain what you've lost and achieve your perfect weight. This is a true LIFESTYLE DIET. I have used this plan in many variations for over 10 years in my own life and have been able to maintain my weight with eating amazingly delicious food!!

The basic plan I want to share with you is laid out in Dr. Jordan Rubin's book Perfect Weight America! I have read all of Dr. Rubin's books including the Maker's Diet and his first book Patient Heal Thyself. For anyone interested I will start reading and blogging from Perfect Weight America, making my comments and doing the actual diet plan with you!!! My hearts desire is to teach you that losing weight and maintaining your perfect weight can be achieved!!! This is not a diet its a lifestyle!! You can do it!!!
Let me know if you are joining me by commenting!!! First thing you need to do is purchase the book if you don't already have it. Talk to you soon. Michele
